Teardown and Demanufacturing
We have dedicated over 4,000 square feet for teardown, where we break down assets to their basic components. Components are then sorted into 4'x4' triple-walled boxes which are passed on to refineries and smelters where precious metals are harvested during the recycling process. By-products of these components are added to items such as concrete, fence posts, or glass during the manufacturing process.
Secure Data Destruction
Our service includes a guarantee to eliminate your data security risk employing tested and proven data security and destruction (DOD 5220.22-M compliant) methods, either by punching a 2” hole through the hard drives or performing a DOD 5220.22-M spec data wipe of the drive via software, or both.
Fund Raising Opportunities
Schools or Non-Profit groups who wish to raise money for their cause are encouraged to look to us to hold an “Electronics Recycling Day”. We have held many successful events both in Connecticut and Massachusetts where we were able to raise between $3,000 and $6,000 for a single event.
For a small fee, we are always available for business or residential pickups, no matter how big.
Town Transfer Station Electronics Program
If your town's transfer station is looking to enter into an electronics recycling solution with a bona fide partner, please consider Green Monster e-Cycling. We have partnered with a number of towns in Connecticut including: East Hartford, Bristol, New Britain, Greenwich, Norwalk, and Avon. We will set up a container on your site for your residents’ recycling needs. We will come as often as needed to clean it out.
Drop Off Services
We are open to the public from 8:00am - 3:30pm Monday through Friday, where anyone can drop off anything, EXCEPT TV's, free of charge. Due to the process for recycling televisions, we require a small fee of 15 cents per pound. For example, a 50 lb television would cost $7.50.
Downstream Controls
Green Monster e-Cycling partners with leaders in the downstream recycling industry that have been audited and are qualified to meet our strict standards. Our partners process all electronic components in accordance with our strict requirements. We work only with ethical, EPA-compliant recycling partners, and regularly audit and closely monitor their practices to ensure they meet all state and federal standards.

TELEVISIONS - CRT TV drop-offs at our processing center are subject to a $.15/lb fee; i.e. an 80 pound TV would cost $12.00 This is to cover our costs to recycle the TV's, as they are the most expensive product for us to recycle responsibly.
We have a number of scales at our facility, and the TV's will be weighed during the drop off process.
LIGHTBULBS - Regular incandescent lightbulbs are $1.00 per piece to recycle. 4ft flourescent and 8ft U-lamps are $1.00 /lb to recycle.
GUARANTEED DATA DESTRUCTION - Physical Hard Drive Destruction is part of what we do at the Green Monster. Each computer / laptop that is dropped off goes through our teardown process where the hard drive is extracted and punched.
We can accommodate any customer who wishes to have their hard drive destroyed right in front of them at the time of drop off for a $20 fee.
PICK-UP SERVICE - Our pickup service fees are based on the following:
- Volume of product to be picked up
- Location of the product at the site
- Distance to the pickup site from our facility
